I have this sharp looking printer sitting all by its self on a cheap ready to assemble table from IKEA in one of my bedrooms. The EPSON Workforce 600 works better than great for me. I got it for $149 and funny thing it seems to have gone up a bit in price. In fact I already have and a friend of mine is is happy with his WF600too.
Printing out a test page from 2 different computers- wireless. Now I know this isn't the only wifi printer out there, heck there are tons now- but this purchase I am completely happy and content with and would recommend to friends. The installation of the software to a laptop and 1 PC was relatively easy and the setup to wifi only took my attention for about 20 mintues- then it was all done. It is nice to be somewhere else in the house, on my laptop, and come across something I need to print and just hit print ---knowing that later when I am ready its on the printer ready for me to pick up.
I dont use the phone part on this all-in-one. No hogging up my computer desk area, it just sits all alone over by its self and only plugged into power- which i hid that cord by placing the small table and printer in front of the power outlet. I am 3 months into using it and could not be happier about having this awesome wifi printer in my home. No gangly looking cords everywhere.
Having a wifi printer is so nice too. I have only had to re-fill my black ink once and having an all-in-one is nice again (i had one years ago when they first came out and had nothing but problems and paid tons of $$). But i do use the copier/scanner/ and print functions.
Our only minor gripe is the rather strange Arcsoft software applications that came with it. After a bad experience (poor quality, slow, noisy) with a Kodak, an expensive experience (the replacement cartridges were draining the money supply) with an HP, we finally got what we wanted with this Epson. Fast, easy to setup, works with and without the PC, separate color cartridges so you don't waste unused ink.
I never could understand why HP didn't take care of this. After using several HP printers decided to give Epson a try. I am very happy with this printer, all of the functions work well and it was easy to set up. On top of this there is no Vista driver available for my HP business injet 1100, which isn't that old. This is by far the best combination printer that I have ever used and it works wireless. All of the HP printers that I have used would get a printer error and print many pages with just a few symbols on them.
It is so fast. I haven't used the fax, yet, but the wireless printing and the copying have been great.
Print quality seems good and the features are extraordinary for the discounted price.Only dislike is the "clunk" that the printer makes when beginning to print. I have just purchased this printer. Now I am used to it - not a problem. I thought something had broken the first time. The packaging was excellent and it arrived safely. The set up (wireless) was straight forward with no complications for someone like me who is not familiar with networks.
